Time Map
by Hulda Stefánsdóttir

Documenting a new series of work, Time Map by Hulda Stefánsdóttir, presents photocopied facsimiles and reproductions of recent unique paintings by the artist based on landscape, architecture, and cultural history near and far — the past in the here and now. The nuanced application of paint to canvas, often in neutral and earthy hues, transforms and becomes at once de- and rematerialized through this process. The photocopier's grisaille evokes a reflection on reproduction and original, repetition and distortion, and subtext and supplement. Time Map expounds upon the potentiality of the book format to re-present Stefánsdóttir's paintings through multi-layered reproductions.

The publication features an essay and poem by Oddný Eir.
