Space Sisters Press to Launch with Net Worth by Suzanne McClelland

(Beacon, NY - January 2018): Space Sisters Press is pleased to launch with its first publication, Net Worth by Suzanne McClelland. Located in Beacon, NY, Space Sisters Press is an artist-centric publisher, focusing predominantly on projects that collaborate with contemporary artists, musicians, and poets on projects that look beyond the boundaries of a typical book.

Net Worth by Suzanne McClelland documents her series of paintings based on data of high net worth individuals. The backs of these canvases show information collected by McClelland as she researches her subjects. These photographs and data reflect that the notion of value are in a constant state of flux. This book presents the fronts and backs of her canvases shown side by side, allowing for the whole work to be viewed at once. Net Worth includes an essay by curator Amy Smith-Stewart. Printed in an edition of 100, each copy of Net Worth will feature a hand-painted and collaged cover by McClelland. Net Worth by Suzanne McClelland will be available in March 2018.

Space Sisters Press is the collaborative efforts of Gretchen Kraus and Emily Devoe, friends with a passion for supporting artists in expanding their practices, further investigating series or projects, and making original work inspired by artists’ books in analog and digital forms. Additionally, Space Sisters Press will also produce a series of micro-projects, small editioned objects. Kraus is the graphic designer and artist liaison and Devoe is the editor and manages marketing and communications.
