Spiral
by Jenny Monick
Jenny Monick's Spiral continues her use of construction paper, in this case creating a set of offset prints in the form of a notebook. The looping wire binding enables the pages to stay open and be displayed as an artwork, as turning the pages unfurls expansive spreads of color and linear meeting points. A meditation and play on color and space, the torn, folded, faded, and photocopied construction paper used as the basis for the bound prints produces imperfections and vibrations, harnessing subtle and striking effects. Spiral is an edition of 250.

5 Posters
by Jenny Monick
Monick’s 5 Posters comprises five editioned doubled-sided prints. Beginning with photocopied construction paper, some torn and faded with time, the machine process adds its own elements—striations, shadows, and off-handed registration. Further, following the offset printing, the paper was then folded, adding a physical linear element to the body of the print. Each step along the way underscores the influence of uncontrolled forces driving the work. Monick harnesses imperfections and easy technology in her material and process to revelatory effect. Bound with string, 5 Posters is an edition of 250.
